Hi folks,
Sooner, smaller, and closer to home than Nationals, but just as worthy
of your attention, is Conclave! It's in two weeks at the University of
New England in Portland, Maine, and folks from all the New England APO
chapters will be there. For those who aren't familiar, Conclave is the
semesterly Sections 94/96 (New England) APO conference; it occurs at a
different university every semester, and is a lot of fun. MIT hosted
last term's Conclave.
*Sign up on the chmrr:* https://apo.chmrr.net/hours/228 - please
indicate if you want to go up on Friday night or Saturday morning by
signing up or not signing up for the Friday slot.
I'm going to submit our registration in *one week* (on October 12) so
please sign up or reply to me before then if you want to go!
The main conference programming (workshops, roundtables, service and
fellowship events, the section business meeting, and the banquet and
dance) is all on Saturday 10/20, from about 8-9am to 10-11pm (the
exact schedule hasn't yet been published); but the conference is 2
hours away, and I'm anticipating at least some of you will not be
thrilled about waking up before 6am. There's a Nationals
legislation-and-other-stuff overview meeting on Sunday which is
quasi-required for Nationals voting delegates and optional for
everyone else; if you want to go to it, sign up for the Sunday slot on
the chmrr.
Conference registration is $40; this includes the banquet on Saturday
night, but lunch on Saturday will be extra (we'll go out somewhere and
split the bill). You can either debtlist your registration or give
Rachel money.
We'll arrange hotel rooms sufficient for all the people who will be
arriving Friday or departing Sunday; the cost is $80/room/night
including taxes, which works out to $20/person/night if we have four
to a room (more if there's not an even number of us). I'll work out an
exact accounting for the relevant costs once we know who's staying
over which nights.
Transportation will be provided by alumni, staff, and/or rental car,
and all transportation costs are covered by the chapter.
Let me know if you have any questions. See you in Portland!
YiLFS,
Josh
