Minutes of ExecComm (March 14, 1995)
Administrative notes:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Start: 7:35 pm; End: at some point I forgot to write down. Present:
Richard, Ingrid, Bob, Rachel, Bridget, Karen, Harry, Cathy, Barbara,
Joe K., Charley, Junko, Kate, Yale, Emily, Sparky
Officers' reports:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SVP (Charley): Harry did a virtual site visit to CEOC today. I need
PC's for Chapter Weekend II, Hospice of Cambridge, Cub Scout
Decathlon, and the ESP thing.
MVP (Emily): Hi. Tomorrow there will be a pledge meeting on
PC'ing. Hopefully Bob will show, as he has PC'ed something.
8pm in 1-136. No word on pledge manuals. I would like help
with them. I will delegate that.
AVP (Cathy): nothing to report
Treasurer (Harry): I haven't had a chance to research Fincomm. If
you're interested, talk to me. I would like past treasurers as well
as other interested people.
FC (Karen): Semi-Formal Formal this Saturday at 8:00 at Burton-
Conner. I have sent email to Sparky and Larry to forward to BU
and Wellesley. Sign up. Elaine and Richard will do a phone call-
ing for project and SFF. There will be a study break next week.
The chapter fellowship weekend next weekend is not happening.
APOcEd (Barbara): People who don't write articles will have their
tonsils removed. Anyone who went to Conclave should write an
article.
ASC (Junko): If you leave random pieces of paper on the table they
may go away.
PubDir (Elaine): I will be changing the IC board Wednesday. I wll
have a design ready tonight and would like help putting it up
tomorrow afternoon.
Historian (Jeffrey): Hello All. I am not here tonite because I really
am at home working on my 6.002 Problem Set. I figure I really
need to try to get this one done. Does that tell you anything
about how much I love this class? Anyway, things to report: I
went to Conclave again and it was very cool. Mike Repeta is
the newly elected Section 96 Chair. The co-sectional treasury
is going to give the Farmington people the $500 and the sec-
tional staff is going to sell the cups and shirts that didn't get
distributed at the last Conclave. I have also sent in film to be
developed. We should have pledge pictures real soon now.
Advisory Comm. Chair (Joe): I had fun at Conclave. Rocky
Horror was something else. I never want to see it again.
President (Bridget): I went to Conclave. I will write an article. I
want people to serve on Nomcomm. I am looking now because I
feel it would be helpful if prospectives for offices spend time with
current officers. Wellesley sent me mail asking about April 10
for the petitioning group ceremony. I went to the ASA meeting
and found out about bulletin board reallocation. We lost half
of our board to Circle K. I asked about a capital improvements
fund and was told to check with CAC.
Committee reports:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Conclave: It happened. Jeff summarized it. It was fun. About 200
people ame. The LDW people should write articles. Because I
(Barbara) was a voting delegate, I didn't go. Sharon Zohar and
Mike Repeta were nominated for Section 96 chair. Mike Repeta
won. Farmington was discussed; verbal promises were obtained
from the chapters that sent too few people to try to cover the
costs. The sectional treasury will give UMF the money, as their
school is not happy with them. They will turn over the extra
cups and shirts, which the section will sell. There was a long
business meeting with lots of stories. I announced upcoming
Alpha Chi events. Spring 1996 conclave will be at Yale March
22-24. Next conclave will be Veterans' Day weekend.
Silkscreening: Still looking for members. I am hosed. I want to
graduate and trade my duties away. The committee comes up
with basic policy about the silkscreening program, helps main-
tain supples, silkscreens, and teaches new people. The silkscreen
committee chair wants a replacement.
Old Business:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Barbara: The safety chair wants a replacement.
New Business:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Charley: The Big Screw PC is real hosed. He says it's coming along.
He needs to tell me when I can meet him or delegate that to
someone.
Karen: IM softball team. 2 Epsilon Theta people signed up to referee,
but they may not be able to. We have no schedule yet.
Announcements:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Barbara: Submit! Save your tonsils.
Sparky: John Grossi is the new Section 94 chair.
Charley: Cub Scout Decathlon in Wilmington. We need drivers. Still
April 1. If I can't find a PC I will ask for drivers.
Karen: There was a dinner trip Friday. 4 people went to the Ground
Round. Another at 7:00 this Friday. I can't go.
Kate: Sub-PC Steak Fry. You want to grill steaks.
Emily: If you need a PC or sub-PC, please ask the pledges.
PFTGOTO:
~~~~~~~
Barbara: I did lots of laundry last night.
Richard: We don't have a dryer. Cathy has a really neat hat and it
almost matches Bridget's scarf.
Ingrid: Epsilon Theta Green Party 8:30 Friday. I wrote an APOc
aticle that may result in Tosci's.
Junko: WILG party Friday.
Bob: I'm published. I want to party.
Charley: I got to identify 20 rocks in geology lab without tables.
Bridget: I turned in a thesis proposal. I am networking a bit of a
compiler.
Sparky: I got promoted today.
Ingrid: If you're not going to SFF, Saturday is opening night for
Kevin's play and Forrest Gump is showing.
Karen: I got hit in the ankle and shin in softball.
Bridget: We had a roll call. It sucked. We did the bunny hop at the
dance.
Meeting adjourned to fellowship circle at some point.
