tldr: Service! Read the top part at least, as it's the stuff happening
now. Follow the links and reply to this email about your availability.
This weekend:
SWE is holding an event for high school girls for Women in Science and
Engineering, 9am-4pm. You get breakfast and lunch, be on campus, go to the
MIT Museum in the afternoon. What you'd be doing: team-building activities,
helping out with a college admissions panel. Contact: sumi.sinha8@gmail.com.
I can't be there though...
Next week:
Sign up first for UMOC:
https://apo.chmrr.net/umoc
We need M10, T11, T2, W11, W2, R1, R2.
then for the blood drive:
https://apo.chmrr.net/november_blood_drive
We don't need to fill all these slots, but volunteering here is helpful to
the Red Cross.
Next weekend is really big.
There's the Philippines basketball tournament fundraiser, *both* days,
9:30am-5pm.
Are you available? When? You can look at some of the tasks in this
spreadsheet:
http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0Avmf6HihmDHbdG9lMUQtNjRkLThOdFBYaV9UOVItbVE&hl=en
If you want, you can sign up there. But if you prefer, reply to me now and
tell me when you're available, then I can tell them how much manpower we can
get when, and they can assign tasks that haven't been filled. Do look at
your schedule and reply, though.
Also if you want to PC this, basically recruiting manpower and knowing
what's going on on their end, let me know and you can have it. I have a
fencing meet that weekend. :P
There's also Splash! If you're volunteering or teaching for Splash! I
commend you! I'm sure they'll take more volunteers (as of 11/2 they were
low on volunteers)

Coming up:
Thanksgiving Weekend. Will you be around? Wanna do some service on our
long weekend? Wanna PC it? Have your people call my people. Watch
out--there is limited time left in which to PC something.
12/5 Mark your calendars: Fun work sorting and packing books for Iraqi
education. A chance to do some international service! Our wonderful pledge
Omar is PCing, and details are upcoming, but expect something like 9am-2pm.
12/10-12/11 Finals Cookie Baking: PC this fun and heartwarming project in
which we bake cookies and deliver them to people studying all around
campus. Bring a spark of spontaneous cheer into the otherwise dismal
existence of the MIT student.
12/12 I-Banquet weekend. (That means officer transitions!) And service?
Wanna PC something this weekend?
12/14 week Finals Coffeehouse, PCed by adehnert. This will be probably the
last project of term. Opportunity to get some hours.
You can also PC SFF! Fun and food, an opportunity to design a creative (or
just tasty) party. Talk to Xavier. This definitely counts as you PCing
something!
There are just 2 weekend slots for projects, but if you still need to PC
something, talk to me. There can also be weekday evening projects,
preferably not so close to finals.
Grab a buddy and PC something together!
Yi Sending a Big Email Cause I've Been Hosed,
Sophie
