Hi all,
Do you care if Book Exchange happens next term?
If so, consider becoming the next Bookex Webgod(dess). Brian has done
a brilliant job at the position for the last several terms, but now he
is going to graduate and if we are going to be able to have Bookex *at
all*, we need someone to take his place.
You should be at oldest a junior, and the younger the better. The web
interface is written in Ruby on Rails, so you should either know it or
be willing to learn it, and also be dedicated to keeping the server up
and running correctly during Bookex. Brian will teach you how to do
everything and be there to help during the first semester. The
chapter really really needs somebody to do this, so if you are
willing, we will thank you a lot.
*****Bookex Update and Postmortem******
awilcox is working on getting all the books out of the office and
getting checks to the people who still haven't gotten theirs for some
reason. Once this happens bookex F07 will be done.
Postmortem: I want the people heavily involved in Bookex this term,
and anyone interested in being involved in Bookex next term, to meet
sometime this week so we can discuss how to make things run more
smoothly next time. Email me to tell me whether or not Wednesday
after the elections meeting works for you. I want everyone to make it
so if you can't do it then, tell me when you can.
We need a PC for Bookex next term. If we collect books at finals
coffeehouse this term, there should be a PC to already be taking
charge of it. So email me and make sure you come to the Postmortem if
you are available to PC Bookex.
