MCOM has already stated the reasons for including <CENTER> without
<P ALIGN="CENTER">; if they are to be believed (which I certainly think
they are!) support for the latter tag will be in the non-beta release.
This means don't use <CENTER> if you don't like it, and unless enough
demand exists for the slight semantic differences between them for both
to exist, <CENTER> will drift off into the sunset.
As to <FONT>, that's another day. Ye who do not take control of HTML
with RFCs surrender its evolution to those that implement...

MCOM can't kill anything we as the "web community" don't put on the chopping
block first. Look at the impact of Mosaic (it's the killer ap, it's the
greatest, it's revolutionizing!), then the impact of NetScape (it's an
even better killer ap, it's the greatest, it's superrevolutionizing!), if
we all want style sheets so badly, when FooBrowser comes arond the bend
in six months and implements them perfectly, we'll have to come up with some
new praises.
