For the past two years OS/2 Zone Magazine has been a magazine where users write for users, about the things that concern the day to day use of the OS/2 operating system. In that time we have established a reputation for high content, every article worth reading from start to end.
Now after several months of development and working with local user groups, the OS/2 Zone Magazine web site is up and ready to continue the work that the paper edition started. As with the paper edition we are out to provide a high content site, with full text articles, news and information services, hot links, contact information, and as always, a high degree of support for user groups. To facilitate this, we have been recruiting a dynamic and energetic group of writers and web authors from user groups to ensure that the content of this site is everything it
should be.
As part of this we are now readying the first advertising spots within the site and are pleased to be able to offer you some of this prime advertising space. By advertising with us you can gain direct access to thousands of OS/2 users around the globe. From our site users will be able to link directly to your own web site or alternatively to information pages that we can setup for you.
And as a special offer, we will give you your first month *FREE* if you take out a two month or greater contract ... You won't receive a bill until the end of the second month.
Here's how it works, at the end of evey month you will receive an account. The first month of course already marked 'Paid in Full'. On this account you will see the number of hits (how many times the page with your add on it was requested by a reader) and the total amount owning for that month.
How much does this cost ?
One month advertising costs $50 for setup and storage, plus $2.50 per 1000 hits that the page receives. For example, in December 1995, we averaged 4000 hits a week on the web site. If
your advertisement was on one of the core site pages and received 14425 hits, your advertising costs for the month would be an incredably cheap $85 for that month. That is $85 Aus. for over
10,000 people looking at your advert.
We also, from time to time will be offering special one off deals for sponsoring special events and articles ... sure to get the readers attention.
Each advertisement in OS/2 Zone is composed of a single graphic up to 450 pixels wide by 80 pixels high. With it will be some alternative text to be used if the reader has graphics turned off in the web browser. This size has been optimised for download economy, yet remaining big enough to get your message to where it needs to go. You can have it at the top or bottom of a specific page in the magazine.
From this graphic there will be a link to either your own website or to a single information page that we can setup for you. ( Cost of these further pages will vary according to content. )
