More on the sd1 hanging problem

We've run a couple more tests on jaws:

	* The system hangs if you copy from the AFS-NFS translator
	  onto the external disk (it takes a long time).
	* The system hangs if you copy from AFS onto the external disk
	  using the AT2000 as the machine's network interface.

So it's probably not an AFS problem (as suspected by Charles), or a
problem with the PCI network card holding a bus line high (as
suggested by information from Thor).

At the moment, we have some reason to suspect that there might be a
bug in pccons (specifically, that the machine hangs after the screen
scrolls but before the cursor position is updated to be at the
beginning of the line).  Charles is doing some testing on this theory
now; we can also see if we can reproduce the problem when we use pcvt.
