xdvi segfaults after the following sequence:

1) show a normal dvi file
2) give it an expose event while latexing, causing the "invalid DVI preamble" 
message to appear instead
3) once the file has been written successfully, giving xdvi an expose event, 
thus theoretically causing it to reload the file, actually causes xdvi to 
segfault.
