I think you were counting this as a one of the three little things,
but I'm not convinced it's little: under both Linux and NetBSD it
wedges the terminal state apparently irrevocably, and under Linux it
even messes things up to the point that `reboot' will wedge the
machine and you have to powercycle it.

However, if I single-step through the ^P in gdb, it all works fine, so
it's possible that just adding some `sleep's will make it all work. If
not, we probably need to do some pcvt ioctls or something.

I'm not actively working on this right now, btw, if anyone else wants
to try to deal.

Will do.

Are we agreed on this? If so, I can create the filsys pointer. Do we
want /afs/sipb.mit.edu/system/mkserv or something else?

Oh, and what about the stuff in /afs/*/system/config? (The alleged
/afs/athena.mit/edu/system/config/passwd/i386_nbsd1/master.passwd, for
instance.) I assume we can probably talk to the right us to get
symlinks made from there into a parallel directory tree in the sipb
cell and put our config files there. Does that sound like the right
thing?
