All they mean by Virtual machine is that you need the java interpreter
for the specific platform, in your case, Windows95. When you run
as an applet under Netscape, Netscape provides a built-in Java
interpreter. So, just get the complete java installation (JDK) and you
will have the Windows95 interpreter you need...
Once you compile the source using javac, then simply execute
by saying "java filename", e.g.
% java HelloWorldApplication
