Been frustrated trying to do a couple of things, maybe someone can share
some shortcuts or long workarounds....
copying one image to another
----------------
For a sprite routine, I need to copy a small area from one 'image' to a
buffer, without scaling. Something like:
image.copy( src_x, src_y, buf_x, buf_y, w, h);
A method exists for this within the _same_ image, but not across images. OK,
sure the devices _could_ be incompatible blah blah, but...
The workaround seems to be to draw the _whole_ larger image into the small
patch? Not sure if clipping the large source would speed things up -
hopefully clipping doesn't affect 'source' images.
Reading the color of a pixel on-screen?
----------------
Isn't there a simple image.getPixel(x,y) ??
Don't quite understand how to use 'pixelgrabber' and that house of cards,
but that doesn't seem directly what I need. Or should I persevere there?
tia for any hints.
