Hello Russ!

I'm not sure if this will work with your site or not but I have had luck using the 
java development application Diva to display files locally on Netscape instead of through the 
applet viewer.  You can pick up Diva at the Gamelan site under utilities.  Give it a try and let 
us know if it works.
