(1) Can Java "reuse" existing codes that are written in other languages?
For example, we have a code written in standard Fortran77 for scientific
simulations. Is it possible to write a Java code that could "wrap" in
the Fortran code without major changes?

(2) Is Java useful for scientific calculations? For this purpose the
followings would be needed:
    * A data type of complex variables. It is currently not supported by
      Java.
    * A large math library. It should have Fourier transform, integral,
matrices, linear and nonlinear equations, etc.
