java audio formats

I have two audio-related questions about java
(as it currently exists in Netscape b5):
- Is the only supported sound format .au 8000hz
at 8bit? Does it support .wav files on win95?
- Is mixing/multiple file playback supported?
The man page for AudioClip does not mention
anything about file formats or resolutions.
