But I've been able to run some beta applets using "file://" It doesn't
work reliably, but it works sometime. Some applets don't run (and I get
an error message in the Java Console) but others run. The most peculiar
problem is that, with certain applets, I get a white flash on the screen
followed by a mostly blank Netscape window with the usual "Source" hot
link at the bottom. The status line says "Document: Done". Then after
I minimize/maximizing the Netscape window a couple of times, I can
finally see (and run) the applet.
