ANNOUNCEMENT: We have a prototype working of a system which can read
*arbitrary* SGML documents over the web, using Java objects to provide the
semantics for each node of the document tree. Source code is not
yet available (we're cleaning it up; all the bug workarounds really
played havoc with the structure), but will be soon. This is a research
project, not a commercial development.
Yeah, we know it should be a content handler. The next release, OK?
Please read all the disclaimers; there are many things we had to hack around
to get this working, and this is a VERY early prototype.
See http://www.meta.cgl.uwaterloo.ca/ for the home page of the project;
the demonstration is at http://www.meta.cgl.uwaterloo.ca/demo.html. Use
Netscape2.0b3 or the beta appletviewer. Use the appletviewer if you're
on Solaris; Netscape will crash :-(
