I am trying to imagine a hypothetical scenario where a user connets to
Internet by using a simple terminal and utilizes the resources distributed
on the network for working. Who may help me in figuring out how a future
application based on Java language will appear? Could you take for example a
wordprocessor like Microsoft word6.
What could be a possible interface that will be shown on the video? What
will I need to do if I want to change a font or to check spelling?
Suppose I need to run a program that requires a heavy computing capability
(for example I want to do a simultation), will Java language permit me to
run that program in a remote server with adequate computing power that will
give me desired results? May I store these results somewhere using Java?
In other words, I would like to know if in the future it will be possible
for a Java user to interact with his simple terminal and receive the power
of a high performance computer?
In conclusion, may you explain to me the meaning of the sentance I read in
your WWW: "Other benefits of multithreading are better interactive
responsiveness and real-time behavior. This is limited however, by the
underlining platform: stand-alone Java runtime enviornment have good
real-time behavior. Running on top of other systems like Unix....". What is
this stand-alone Java run-time enviornment? How is it possible to have it
without an underlining operating system? Please make an example for better
clarification.
Thank you.
