I think tcp/ip networking is rather platform independant.
To say someone will only want to use network functionality if they are
running on a sun, is silly.

They should have left the net stuff in net.*, actually.

If sun+netscape chooses not to have the net.* classes in the common
"mandatory" standard for java, fine.
But THEY SHOULD STILL BE IN net.* !!!
