The whole point of having a large number of tools is that they are each
much better suited to the task. There was and ad detailing
how a guy built a house using only a swiss knife - splendid, but you do
it for glory, advertising, learning or hobby - not because you need a
house. 

So let us leave the OS guys to model their own tools - Java is for 
'executable content' - run your code anywhere.
