The latest response to a breach of netiquette (posting a 17-part shar
file to xpert@expo.lcs.mit.edu, which feeds hundreds of sublists and
comp.windows.x...) by someone who really should have known better...

Subject: The lynching is set for the first day of usenix.
Do you remember watching those old slapstick comedies where the principle
character(s) would try to do something useful (like fix a leaking faucet)
and would, of course, end up inadvertently destroying the entire house?
Well, I sort of feel that way now.
For some reason, some mailer somewhere has decided to add insult to injury
by sending out 4 copies of everything I posted to xpert. Mind you, I only
posted it once, but this seems to be irrelevant. Something, somwhere,
has decided that what really needs to happen is for the ENTIRE NETWORK
to want to KILL one Jordan K. Hubbard for War Crimes against the
backbone.
Now, I'll admit, I've cross posted on occasion. I once even inadvertently
sent out a "wall" message to a good portion of the internet. But this
time was different, honest! I was just trying to answer all the people
asking me (at least once a day) where the hell awm was and why was it taking
so long for me to repost it..
Is this Bad Karma coming back? Am I paying for past sins? Does this mean
I have to read the instructions? It wasn't my fault that Mrs. Marsh's sofa
got into the swimming pool! It was an accident!
Ok. I surrender. At Dave's "Diabolo room" usenix BOF will be one humble,
contrite Jordan Hubbard wearing a large target tee-shirt. All I ask is
that you make it quick, I don't take extreme pain well.
If it's any consolation, I got a copy of everything too.
Sigh... Whimper... My stomach hurts.
Jordan

kerr (Deborah A. Wallach):
I can log in and probably will once a day at least from NJ.
My address is:
Debby Wallach
AT&T Bell Laboratories
Room 2B-420
600 Mountain Road
Murray Hill, NJ 07974
I can sometimes be reached at work at this number: (201) 582-6792 (or
if that is busy, 6794). This rings in a lab.
Although I have a psuedo arpanet account at work, send mail to
kerr@athena.mit.edu. If you need to reach me in a hurry (ha) send
mail to both kerr@athena.mit.edu and kerr%lucian@att.arpa. I suppose
you can send it to the att address (as long as is cc'ed here).
att.arpa not att.com, please. for some reason, att.com does all sorts
of nasty things, and ends up bouncing most of the time.
