Dim and wavering
On a wind-blown night
Whose honor, whose anger
Cold and quivering
As was the wind-blown night
Into which she'd fallen, fallen
Freedom, well it's a thing that is fleeting
Freedom is standing next to you
My intentions were clear
I was with him
Everyone know
Poor little fool
Beautiful as you are
With that high spirit
Morning star of evil hit me
Cut me like a knife
Cool and collected
She became that with time
Totally rejected
Freedom, well is's a thing that is fleeting
Freedom is standing next to you
My intentions were clear
I was with him
Everyone know
Poor little fool
It's all in the eyes
It's all in the way that you look
It's all in the way
That you say very little
It's all in the way that you talk
Look at me with daggers
It won't do you any good
All the looks that you've used on me
Don't work now that you've fallen,
fallen, fallen
"Freedom"
-Fleetwood Mac

Fixing Some Bugs on a Sunday Evening
by David A. Lyons, January 1994
(with apologies to Robert Frost)
Whose bugs these are I think I know,
But now he works at 3DO;
He will not see me working here
To fix his code and make it go.
The saner folk must think it queer
To trace without the source code near
After a launch and frozen mouse
The weirdest stack crawl of the year.
I give my nodding head a shake
To see if I can stay awake.
The only other thing to do
Is find some more caffeine to take.
This bug is pretty hard to nip,
But I have other ones to fix,
And tons to go before we ship,
And tons to go before we ship.
(Note: Hey, it's fiction. Close to reality in spirit, but does not
refer to a specific project, bug, Sunday, or brand of soft drink.)

<h2>My plan:</h2>
To get Sam Beckett to leap into me and take care of the next two years.
<p>
<h2>Long term plan:</h2>
To become someone people can talk to. To become someone with strength
of character. To become someone who doesn't whine. To become someone
who knows when it's time to be serious. <p>
All of this without being someone other than me.

<h2>"O My God" by The Police</h2>
Everyone I know is lonely,<br>
and God's so far away,<br>
And my heart belongs to no one<br>
So now sometimes I pray<br>
Please take the space between us<br>
And fill it up some way<br>
Take the space between us<br>
and fill it up some way<p>
O my God you take the biscuit<br>
Treating me this way<br>
Expecting me to treat you well<br>
No matter what you say<br>
How can I turn the other cheek<br>
It's black and bruised and torn<br>
I've been waiting<br>
since the day that I was born<p>
Take the space between us <br>
and fill it up some way.<br>
Take the space between us <br>
and fill it up some way.<p>
The fat man in his garden<br>
The thin man at his gate<br>
My God you must be sleeping<br>
Wake up it's much too late<p>
Take the space between us <br>
and fill it up some way.<br>
Take the space between us <br>
and fill it up some way.<p>
Do I have to tell the story of a thousand rainy days<br>
Since we first met,<br>
It's a big enough umbrella <br>
But it's always me that ends up getting wet<p>

therese (Therese):
I sit, by myself, among friends
reaching out to touch those beyond my feeble reach
spending time caring for people...
whom I may never meet
Sharing a myriad of emotions...
As ephemeral as those I share them with
Hearing sighs and laughter with no voices...
feeling warmth in hugs that have no arms...
seeing smiles on imaginary faces
distance shrinks, and for a brief moment...
we are one as friends...
more than friends...
family..

tlw (Traci Williams):
THINGS TO DO BEFORE I DIE:
1. Write a book or two.
2. Have a place in the country, complete with old farmhouse and horses
in the field.
3. Fall hopelessly and passionately in love.
