LSC Movies for the week of Feb 25 to Feb 27
Fri. Feb 25 Indochine [???] 26-100 7 & 10:30
This story revolves around the relationship between Eliane (Catherine
Deneuve), a French rubber-plantation owner, and Camile, her adopted
Vietnamese daughter. The close bond between the two is tested first by
their passion for the same dashing French naval officer, then by the
forces of history.
Fri. Feb 25 The Treasure of the Sierra Madre [???] 10-250 7:30
The story of three penniless prospectors and the effect on them from
the promise of sudden wealth. Bogart, as Fred C. Dobbs, gives one of
the best performances of his career. We watch him change from a
likable drifter into a man capable of killing his friend in cold
blood. This picture is the last picture in our Bogart Series, and, as
always, is directed by John Huston, who won two Academy Awards.
Directed by John Huston, music by Max Steiner (1948, 16mm print).
Sat. Feb 26 Heart and Souls [PG-13] 26-100 7 & 10
Four San Francisco strangers are killed in a bus which crashes just as
Eva Reilly gives birth to a baby in a nearby car. The four people's
souls are inexplicably attached to the baby, Thomas Reilly. An adult
Thomas (Robert Downey, Jr.) is a slick, selfish young executive unaware
of the four ghosts' presence. When the dead driver of the doomed bus
comes to take the four to the Great Beyond, they realize that they were
stuck on earth to resolve their lives; and are given a little extra time
to fulfill their goals through Thomas.
Sun. Feb 27 Dangerous Liaisons [R] 10-250 7 & 10
In a stylish period drama based on the famous 18th-century novel, Les
Liaisons Dangereuses, John Malkovitch and Glenn Close star as former
lovers who take pleasure in manipulating the affections of others and
watching their victims become undone by their passions. Also stars
Michelle Pfeiffer and Keanu Reeves. Directed by Stephen Frears (My
Beautiful Laundrette).

show of the corresponding Friday series movie.
