COHN'S LAW
The more time you spend in reporting on what you are doing, the less
time you have to do anything. Stability is achieved when you spend
all your time reporting on the nothing you are doing.
NINETY-NINETY RULE OF PROJECT SCHEDULES:
The first ninety percent of the task takes ninety percent of the
time, and the last ten percent takes the other ninety percent.
MURPHY'S LAWS
1) If anything can go wrong, it will (and at the worst possible moment).
2) Nothing is as easy as it looks.
3) Everything takes longer than you think it will.
MURPHY'S FOURTH LAW
If there is a possibility of several things going wrong, the one
that will cause the most damage will be the one to go wrong.
O'TOOLE'S COMMENTARY ON MURPHY'S LAW
Murphy was an optimist.

ranald (Gregory L Yantz):
He turned without a word and started for the door. Behind him he
heard her hurrying after him.
"Where do you think _you're_ going?"
"Back to the real world." He had trouble speaking; the tears were
making him sob and his words came raggedly.
"You've got to stay. _Everyone_ stays."
"Not me sweetie. The cheese stands alone."
"It's all futile. You'll never know grandeur again. It's all dross,
waste, emptiness. There's nothing as good if you live to be a thousand."
He opened the door. The fog was out there. And the night. And the
final forest. He stopped and looked down at her. "Maybe if I'm lucky I
won't live to be a thousand."
-Harlan Ellison, "The Cheese Stands Alone"

therese (Therese):
On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star
Like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are
How fragile we are..
