That doesn't work if you don't know they are being logged.  I didn't
discover CA until junior year, and I'm sure most people with .plan's
have never heard of it.  (As it happens, I didn't bother with a .plan
until I found CA, but that's besides the point :-)  

Consider this analogy: what would you think about someone running a
script to track the logins and logouts of realm-announced users, or
one that periodically checked to see if realm-visible people are
zlocatable and made cute little Gantt charts with the data?

Would it be infeasible to send an email about CA to every user whose
plan file was detected as loggable for the first time, and then log
that user's plan file only if s?he agreed?

(At least I'm offering a solution as well as flaming :-)
