Disclaimer: The following story contains naughty bits. If
you are under 18, or if this has somehow wandered onto the K12 net,
STOP READING NOW. Do not, I repeat, do not email it to all your
friends. And for God's sake do not make a printout of it and
distribute copies all over your school. I mean sure, it'll be cool
and all, and you'll probably have lots of new friends, and you'll
probably even get lots of dates which will lead to numerous nights
of hot, sticky backseat passion, but like, you could get in big
trouble. Cause I know a kid who did it and sure, it was cool
for awhile, but all the new friends he made weren't like *real*
friends. Plus like, it's all fully and legally copyrighted and
if you think you're so tough now, let's see how you feel after a
few months in the joint sharing a cell with a disgruntled former
Kinko's employee with something to prove. Copyright prison--you
wouldn't last a day.

(Story not included, as I am so frightened by this disclaimer, and it's
not very good anyway... -Calvin :-)

Estevez escape and reclaim his girlfriend of the past? Anthony
Hopkins guest stars in this movie based on the novel _Immortality,

==== taken from a letter from The Rutherford Institute ===============

A family in Iowa has raised and "home schooled" their son who has
hearing and learning difficulties -- and now the state wants to send
him back to a state controlled school for the deaf.

Iowa School for the Deaf has brought a C.H.I.N.A. Act (Child In
Need of Assistance) petition before the court, demanding that eighth
grader Flagg Murphy be returned to the school. The school does not
feel his parents can meet his "educational and other needs" through
home schooling.

But his parents say, "We placed Flagg in school at the age of
four. At the age of fourteen, Flagg's reading and math skills were
still below the third grade level. He had continued to advance in
grade levels, even though his scholastic achievement did not merit
it."

"School officials tested Flagg and found he was mildly mentally
retarded, had cerebral palsy, and was severely hearing impaired. But
they still kept him with his peers and continued to pass him. They
used Flagg's disabilities to explain away his lack of education
achievement," said Flagg's stepmother, Marie Murphy.

The Murphy's finally removed Flagg from the school and began home
schooling. "In eleven months Flagg gained over a year in reading and
math, which is more than he learned the whole time at the school of
the deaf."

"We've also learned through new tests that Flagg was never
retarded, but only poorly coordinated because of the cerebral palsy.
And, with two new hearing devices, Flagg can now hear most
conversational speech," Murphy said.

Flagg's parents contacted the Rutherford Institute. Our
attorneys are now gathering information and evidence from four experts
to prove how well home schooling does meet Flagg's needs.
