jik: do you doubt that you couldn't smuggle a bomb aboard an aircraft?
ask any of the people who explained away their 6.004/6.111 lab kits.
That box of wires could be anything. I have a butane soldering iron
in my backpack. I've never had it questioned. The thing they're
always paranoid about is my camera. So they look through it. BFD.
The flash could be 8 ounces of Semtex.

Here's a story:

*Three* *days* after Lockerbie, I (yes, me. This is not an urban
legend) flew from JFK to Heathrow. I had my boom box with me. I
managed to convince them not to x-ray it. They made me turn it on, so
I played the radio. I've opened that box up. There's plenty of room
for enough plastique to shred a 747. The electronics in there, along
with the batteries should make a nice detonator.
