danb (Daniel G Brown):
"Thank you. I was just explaining why you've come. . . . It's
because," Grey continued, "of the hike in insurance premiums we're
going to impose from January first. Of course we've always predicated
our quotations on the assumption that life expectancy in the United
States would continue to rise. But during the past three years it has
in fact started to go down."

eichin (Mark W. Eichin):
>> This involves a number of little things which I

As threatened, err, I mean promised...
1) Cleaned my apartment. It's now fit for guests, perhaps even a
repeat house-warming party some time soon. The "playroom" still needs work,
but I *finally* hung posters in most of the other rooms...
2) Started taking ballroom dance classes. It's surprising how many people
I recognize there... and how many people get Ken and I confused. Now I know
how Chee feels.
3) Started shopping for a "real" home computer (ie. something big enough
to perform well enough to port Athena to :-) Building a database of info from
ads, right now. (look in ~eichin/hardware if you're interested, but don't
blame me for anything you do with the info - there may be typos.)
4) Further Adventures in COOKING... I successfully made *chocolate truffles*
for the first time ever! The Cocolat recipe seems the most straightforward,
and you can cheat alot and have it still work :-)
Like lightening
everybody was frightening
and the music was soothing
then everybody was MOVING...
And the man in the back said everyone attack
and it turned into a ballroom blitz........

that is bound to avoid one hell of a racket".

I was flying into Westchester County Airport (HPN) which is under the
3000' floor of the NY TCA. NY approach was handling the sequencing of planes
into HPN.
As I tuned into NY approach, the first thing I heard was:
"NOW, I will be the only one speaking for the next 2 minutes, American XXX ..."
I get to Tappan Zee bridge and do 360's listening to the non-stop banter on
the radio. After about 5 minutes, I manage to sneak in:
"NY approach, Cherokee !@#$ over Tappan Zee landing at Westchester County."
"Cherokee !@#$, I didn't ask you to call me. Stand by."
Sigh.
