eichin (Mark W. Eichin):

As threatened, err, I mean promised...

 1) Cleaned my apartment. It's now fit for guests, perhaps even a
repeat house-warming party some time soon. The "playroom" still needs work,
but I *finally* hung posters in most of the other rooms...
 2) Started taking ballroom dance classes. It's surprising how many people
I recognize there... and how many people get Ken and I confused. Now I know
how Chee feels.
 3) Started shopping for a "real" home computer (ie. something big enough
to perform well enough to port Athena to :-) Building a database of info from
ads, right now. (look in ~eichin/hardware if you're interested, but don't
blame me for anything you do with the info - there may be typos.)

Article 63980 (23 more) in rec.arts.comics:
From: goldfarb@ocf.berkeley.edu (David Goldfarb)

Word is, if I recall, that the first new Calvin and Hobbes strip
in nine months will be on February second.

We'd better hope that Hobbes doesn't see his shadow in that strip.
If he does, it means six more weeks of reruns.

therese (Therese):

Despair is the absolute extreme of self-love. it is reached when
a man deliberately turns his back on all help from anyone else
in order to taste the rotten luxury of knowing himself to be lost.
...But a man who is truly humble cannot despair, because in the humble
man there is no longer any such thing as self-pity.
