When Isaac Asimov lectured at MIT a few years ago, and mentioned his
position as honorary chairman (or some such) of Mensa, the audience
hissed.
Jeremy Wolfe (remember him? he used to teach here...) thought that
Mensa is an organization for people who have high IQ's but don't actually
*do* anything with their intelligence. This is in contrast with MIT,
where all the students have so much work to do that even the brightest
geniuses here don't have so much confidence in their own brains.
