I prefer to think of it as follows:
there's this hack which saves me time in finding people's changed plan
files; I don't have to attach each homedir and type 'finger username' to see
their .plan file.
.plan files are well-known to be public files, intended for others to read.
The authors are free to write what they want, but are held accountable for
what they write.
[as CA maintainer, I am willing to alter the database to remove a particular
person's account from the list of scanned directories if they request it, but
not if someone else requests it. requests to jtkohl@mit.edu for the moment]
