celine (Robert Fullmer):
"You are old," said the youth, "and I'm told by my peers
That your lectures bore people to death.
Yet you talk at one hundred conventions per year --
Don't you think that you should save your breath?"
"I have answered three questions and that is enough,"
Said his father, "Don't give yourself airs!
Do you think I can listen all day to such stuff?
Be off, or I'll kick you downstairs!"

eichin (Mark W. Eichin):
This reminds me of something I told a class of college seniors when I was a
T.A. in Computer Science. I mentioned that I would not deduct points for
incorrect spelling or grammar in their documentation, since we had many
foreign students in the class, and I wanted to be fair to those Americans
who didn't know English as well as they did.
- Mark Whiting (alt.flame.spelling)

To meet everyone at M.I.T. --
If you don't know me, drop some mail and say hi.
If you do know me, drop some mail and say hi.
Smile.

jcbourne (Juliet C Bourne):
And you live in a shell
You create your own hell
You live in the past and talk about war
And you dig your own grave
But it's a life you can save
So stop thinking that, it's not gonna happen
And you'll cry but you'll never fall
Oh no no no
You're building a wall
Gotta break it down, start again
Oh no no no, it won't happen to us
We've lived our lives basically and in goodness
So stop talking of war
'Cause you know we've heard it all before
Why don't you go out there and do something useful?
Listen to the man in the liquor store,
He yells "Anybody wanna drink before the war?"
Anybody wanna drink before the war
Anybody wanna drink before the war
-- from "Drink Before the War", Sinead O'Connor

The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.
