Karn Evil #9 appeared originally on Brain Salad Surgery, which has
cover artwork by H.R. Giger (he also did a lot of the design of the
alien spaceship for the movie Alien; you can see the resemblance).
The work is split between side 1 and side 2 of the record; I think
that 1st Impression Part 1 was at the end of side 1, and 1st
Impression Part 2, 2nd Impression, and 3rd Impression (?) appear at
the beginning of side 2. Some of the musical themes from 1st
Impression Part 2 appear in other parts of the work.
