SERVE BOSTON '93
Saturday, May 8th, 1993
"On behalf of the people of the City of Boston, I want to
commend you and your fellow volunteers from HOPE Boston,
Inc. and the Boston Church of Christ for organizing
SERVE BOSTON '93." - Mayor Raymond Flynn,
Honorary Event Chairman for SERVE BOSTON '93
Once again, HOPE Boston is sponsoring a fund raiser to support the poor
and needed in Boston, New England and throughout the World.
What is HOPE Boston?
--------------------
Founded in 1992, HOPE Boston is registered with the Internal Revenue
Service as a 501 (c) (3), tax-exampt, non-prophet organization. Though
organized, administered, and funded as a separate organization, many of
HOPE Boston's volunteers are members of the Boston Church of Christ.
HOPE'S mission is to solicit and administer funds to help the poor and
needy in metropolitan Boston, New England and around the world. Funds are
raised through a variety of sponsored events where volunteers solicit
contributions from individuals and corporations. In the past 12 months,
HOPE has contributed funds to agencies and institutions in the Boston
metropolitan area, western Massachusetts, Providence, Rhode Island and
southern New Hampshire as well as international medical clinics and
educational projects.
Who Benefits?
-------------
In HOPE Boston's inaugural year over $450,000 in cash and
"gifts-in-kind" was raised though an Art Auction, Bike-A-Thon, and
Walk-A-Thon held in the Boston area. Local businesses contributed products
and services and several local gift programs.
Through future events, like Serve Boston '93, HOPE Boston will continue
to raise funds for those who need our help and work to increase our
community's awareness and provide opportunities for service.
Here is a list of some organizations that have received financial
support from HOPE Boston:
o Big Sisters Association o Quincy Crisis Center
o H.O.P.E. Worldwide Ltd. o Haitian American
o Children's Hospital Cultural Center
Aids Program (CHAP) o MA Dept. of Social Services
o Roxbury Youthworks o Germaine Lawrence School
o Boys & Girls Clubs o NE Homeless Veterans
of Boston o Pine Street Inn
o MA Association for o Boston Healthcare
Mental Health for Homeless
o Dimock Street o Rosie's Place
Health Center o Judge Baker House
Alone, no one will feed all the hungry, house the homeless and cure the
world's sick. But working together -- each person doing their part -- we
can be the difference between life and death for many people around the
world. Ultimately, it is the sacrifice of individuals that keeps HOPE
alive...will you help?
What is the Serve Boston '93 Project?
-------------------------------------
Serve Boston '93 is the major planned fund raiser event for HOPE
Boston,Inc. in 1993. Volunteers will solicit funds in return for 4 hours

How can I help? (5 Simple Steps)
---------------
1) Register! (Contact the one who sent/gave you this information [Aaron Cardenas
