Minutes of ExecComm (March 10, 1993)

*Administrative notes:

Start: 7 pm; End: ? pm. Present:
Jen'n, Crystal, Kevin Dahm, Joe Kuchta, Sara Verilli, Ann Yen,
Amy Hsu, Kate Curtis, Darlene, Ezra, Yale, Alan, Gilbert, Dave Cho,
Henning. ``Minutes by Kevin.''

*Officers' reports:

*SVP's report:
In the culmination of a mad and glorious search for a Saturday project,
Darlene PC'ed a visit to CASPAR shelter where brothers and pledges helped
with dinner and set up beds for the night.

Sara Howe is PCing an AIDS awareness project this weekend, Sat. the 13th
from 2-4 pm in Twenty Chimneys. (Discussion of phone calling- Crystal will be
doing it.)

Ride board will be completed during spring break.

*MVP's report:
Pledges are working on finding a pledge project. They are in search of
something to destroy, but will settle for a construction project if need be.

A list of prospectives for next fall is being compiled.

J.P. STILL HAS NO BIG BROTHER.

(Someone asks about the possibility of a Pledge Leadership Workshop. Sara
reports she knows nothing about such a thing but is receptive to the idea and
asks who would be able to run it. Chaos ensues as names are suggested, Glenn
and Dave are the names which are shouted most audibly. Neither is present at
this point to dish it off on the other, so it sort of lies there.)

*AVP's report:
Not present. Presumed at home barfing guts out.
[Actually at home coughing lungs up; not that it matters.]

*Treasurer's report:
Food from Afterfinals and Chapter Weekend 1 which never happened
has caused a loss of close to 300.

A reminder to all who use the office phone:

PAY FOR CALLS WHICH ARE NOT APO BUSINESS. IF YOU MAKE A LONG DISTANCE CALL
FROM THE OFFICE, WRITE IT DOWN AND INDICATE IF IT IS APO BUSINESS OR NOT.

Reg Day money has not been received yet. Kate is on the job.

Kate is searching for a charity to give the massive excess of money in the
Book Exchange account to. She is open to suggestions. Literacy or education
types of charities seem to be preference.

*Fellowship Chair's report:
(This actually took place at the end of the meeting cause
that's when Dave showed up.) Semi Formal is Saturday, the 13th, at 9 pm in
East Campus. BRING MUSIC.

Dave announces that he completely forgot about the Study Break he was
supposed to be having after the officer's meeting until just now. That event
is unceremoniously cancelled. After much flopping around and surfing waves of
apathy, another study break is scheduled, Thursday the 18th at 9 pm, meet at
the building 26 elevator. Jen'n is PC.

Steak Fry still has no PC. Dave has a fit of delegation and turns himself
into the PC, and gets nearly everyone on EXECCOMM to agree to take care of
some aspect of Steak Fry. Steak Fry is slated for April 3 at 6 pm.

*APOcEd's report:
Not present. Excused. Same reason as AVP.

*ASC's report:
Nothing to report.

*PubDir's report:
I changed the board. That's all.

(Ezra interjects that ASA will return the bottom half of the board to us
if its not claimed by the end of this semester. There was great rejoicing.)

*Historian's report:
Will be searching for a new camera in the near future. Have a
happy bglad week.

*Chairman of the Advisory Committee, report of:
Bonnie Kellerman wants to visit an ExecComm in the near future. Also,
have presented a list of "House Rules" to the ASC. (ASC reads the House
Rules and they are favorably received. ASC promises to do something
useful with the list.)

*President's report:
I can't think. We're having a meeting with our advisors some time
after Spring Break. I'm really out of it. I'm still working on sending out
the shingles. I'm going to shut up now, because I'm really out of it.

*New Business:
Kate reports little or no progress on the standing policies front.

Ezra announces that an ASA meeting is coming up and that a new office policy
has been proposed. Policy would change office space from permanent to leased
status and necessitate us kissing up to ASA every 3 years or so to get lease
renewed. Much panic. Much flamage. It is suggested that many brothers run
for ASA in order to cover our asses.

Crystal asks if there should be a chapter meeting next week. Shouts of
yes from all corners. Crystal goes back to being "out of it."

*Announcements
City Days will be happening this year, but the "tours" will not
be happening. The agenda looks a bit like this: City Days I, followed in a
couple weeks by Public Service Day, followed by Fall Colloquim. More details
will be forthcoming at the next chapter meeting, at least I hope they will,
cause now that I think about it, I really don't understand a word of what I
just wrote. I wasn't here for the last City Days. Sue me.

Yale asks how the leadership program is going. Word is that obtaining
modules from Judy has been a no-go so far. There are vague rumors that Crystal
and Glenn have made some sort of progress on it, and will be working on it
more in the near future, presumably when Crystal is "back in it."

Dave asks for opinions on the low-key social program. Kate and Ezra both
tell him to hit the gas and increase it a bit. General nods and murmur of
approval. Crystal asks why "announcements" seem to have degenerated into
"questions" and decided to move on to PFTGOTO.

*PFTGOTO
Crystal thanks all of ExecComm, especially Amy for the lovely new
corridor board, and Kevin for taking minutes in Bridget's absence.

Jen'n hopes everybody gets better and worships Darlene for PCing Saturday's
project at the last minute.

Ezra thanks people for distributing books and checks from book exchange.

Joe announces that Jen'n has been officially authorized by the
something-or-other heart association.

   Ann says happy bglad week.
