Three cheers for Brad's comments about working the UMOC booth. In the years
when UMOC raised more than tuition, there was almost always someone representing
each candidate in Lobby 10 throughout the day, guaranteeing that NO-ONE could
pass through without encountering several of them. Obviously, when the
candidate itself was there, more money was collected, but there have been some
very effective lieutenants.
UMOC is a charity fund-raiser, but it is also a show. The more people see, the
more involved they become. I realize we're near the end for this year, but
perhaps there should be an evaluation session where the lessons of this and
previous years could be discussed, and some plans laid for future years, as well
as for Big Screw, which is structurally virtually identical.
