Warning: this got longer than I wanted, even after I started over
--twice!--after getting too long and sappy.
Platform for fellowship chair:
--"repay" the fellowship I depended on last term when the fat hit the
shin for me. [No; isn't there supposed to be something about
a "fan" in there somewhere?]
--I'll be spending much more time in the office next term.
This term: no classes, but full time job on thesis project.
Next term: no thesis, and only 2 classes plus maybe some TAing.
My more recent excuse is my being "differently mobile" because
some jerk caused me to fall and break my leg. It **WILL** be
off (the cast, not my leg) by June, or I will have made my new
rollerblades strap-on by then.
--bring back the brianperrinesque fun, as well as the yay, happy, and
*bounce*bounce*
--tactfully try drag back the inactives...
--tactfully and humorously try to coerce the pledges to the dark side
of life (APO)
--continue to tease and laugh at anyone and everyone for anything and
everything. First, because I'm easily amused, and second,
(and this is true, really!) because I don't mean it. No,
really, Jen, you don't have to hide from me: I was kidding at
PAM that I wanted pledges with more meat on their bones
because skinny ones hardly make a good snack.
--water the plants in the office: I think plants are a happy thing,
and those poor things need more water more often.
--apple picking trips: perhaps more than one, altho the extras may be
more informal, and earlier in the season so we don't have to
ignore the yellow tape and signs saying "Don't pick here" to
get good apples.
--Fulton's Folly: July 4, yay fun, happy *blam*blam* fireworks, yay!
I will be around most of this summer! Maybe we can shoot at
that bat that was flying around last year...
--Falling's Folly: he says he wants more people at his place on the
cape before he returns to MIT this fall. Heck, who am I to
say no to cheesecake? Twist my arm!
--DINNER TRIPS. When I do not have my present "unusual mobility", I
tend to be unusually mobile and so burn calories and like to eat.
Dinner trips anywhere and everywhere, with anyone and everyone.
--Stand on my head and cluck like a chicken. Everyone wants to see
that at least once, right?
--I'll encourage people to keep the office messy and leave food strewn
around to encourage more mold to hang out and be fellowshippy.
-- >:) I'd love to bring back the Friday Night Beer Blasts; I suppose
our charter doesn't allow that, but there's a picture of one
in the AX 50 year archive book. I'm sure that something only
vaguely similar can be done, however.
--the usual steakfry, PAM, and SFF. I'll promise to not have the SFF
so soon into the term that no one feels like they had too
little warning...and perhaps we can have a nice theme, like
blacklighting with cool fluorescent drawings all over the place...
--Ah, I'll steal a great idea from my fraternity house: The Dumbest
Thing Done All Week.
