Hi,
I apologize if this isn't exactly the correct forum for this
email, but:

The Horizons Initiative is a volunteer organization dedicated
to (in my words) daycare for homeless kids, and presumably a bit more,
but the thrust is entirely towards homeless kids. Their quota for
evening and weekend volunteers is apparently saturated, but when my
girlfriend mentioned I was able to work days they changed their minds,
asking me to fax an application.
They want a single two-hour block of time per week, but with a
six month commitment. Apparently at all times you will be working
with a staff member, so you shouldn't be left to flounder. There is a
"make up" training session from 10am to 3:15pm Saturday January 24th;
you'll have had to have talked to them and faxed in an application by
then. (I say "make up" because that is what they call it: I got my
application in too late to fit into the regular weeknight sessions.)

So, I'll leave their brochure in the office; you can call them
to have them fax an application to you. I didn't think to xerox mine
before filling it in.

Enjoy,
Brad Lichtenstein
