Administrative notes:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Start: 7:05 pm; End: 7:45 pm Present: Lizzie, Brian, Matt, Grant,
Jill, Ron, Ingrid, Lan, Michael, Oscar, Jeff, Ari, Pipa, Susama,
David, Cathy, Carolyn, Melissa, Yale
Officers' reports:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

SVP (Susama): CWII is happening. Please volunteer, unless you don't
want this many projects, then tell me. I'd be appreciative of
help. And George's Island is coming up on 10/25. In Nov, we're putting
up a fence and working on a porch with kids helping out at Mass
Halfway House.

MVP (Jeffrey): We have 14 pledges. If you're a big, meet with your
little. Then meet with me this Friday at 5pm to talk about being a
big. (If this doesn't work, just talk to me later.) Also, 4 people don't
have bigs.

AVP (Melissa): Nothing to report.

Treasurer (Matt): BEEP-boo BEEP-boo BEEP-boo....oh right. Books
happened. Debt-lists happened. Pay yer debts.

FC (Brian P.): There was a dinner trip last weekend. It was FUN FUN
FUN. Continuing soon will the the Never-Ending-Movie Night. (Note: it
never actually ended last time; it's degenerate with 0 attendees and 0
movies showing, currently) If you have suggestions for
times/movies/whatever talk to me. And SFF is coming soon.

APOcEd (David): I'm hosed. Next APOC will be in a week. Contribute
articles. Deadline to SUBMIT is Sunday night.

ASC (Cathy): YEAH. That is all.

PubDir (Pipa): Nah...

Historian (Carolyn J.): I'm hosed this weekend. :( Can Someone Else
take pictures at Chapter Weekend II? Volunteers?

President (Lizzie): Yeah.

Committee reports:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Robert's Rules (Ari): Now pay close attention...Robert's Rules Comm
only reports twice per year, and this is it...........Nothing to
report. (AVP's NOTE: sigh.)
Conclave (Cathy): Meetings are Monday at 8:30pm. Deadline to register
for Conclave is Oct. 21. Pay by then, else face the late fees that we
charge EVERYONE. Also, I need someone to coordinate service projects;
if you're interested, talk to me.
UMOC (Melissa): Look at the rules that I'm passing around.
Carnival (Ari): I met with CAC person to see if we could get
administrative support of Carnival; it wasn't terribly helpful, since
this person didn't have the power to say 'yay' or 'nay'. Perhaps we
can get someone to join the program board, so that we can get $$ in
the future?
Heather: Smut smut smut.  Fnord.
Susama: Carnival meeting happened Sunday. We decided that
   o it's important to get administration to support us
financially, which would improve the Institute's PR
   o if we don't get support from the administration, carnival should die
   o Carnival should be an evening event.
Oscar: Last year we lost $450.35. Without the help of the Provost and
of the Program Board, we would have lost several thousand
dollars. Therefore, unless we get a lot of money, Carnival should not
happen.
Cathy: I move to close discussion and allow interested people to
research this and potential fundraising ideas, so that they can report
back to the chapter with more information. (White Ballot)
 New Business:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  UMOC (Melissa):: UMOC is happening the 10/27 through 10/31 in Lobby
10, where ugly people and/or brothers shall be found aplenty. I
passed around the proposed rules; they are identical to last year's
rules, except all the dates have been changed. Note that there is a
typo in the Candidate Disclaimer. Apparently, this gets fixed every
year. Anyway, I move to pass the 1997 UMOC rules as amended. (White
Ballot)

 Announcements:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cathy: Come to Conclave. Pay us. You must pay by Oct. 22, or face late
fees. If you work for a large chunk of the time, we may waive your
registration fee.
