Hi,
My name is Brad Lichtenstein, I'm a new pledge of Alpha Chi.
I suggested an apple picking trip, so of course I was railroaded into
being the PC. Hence, the first Annual Pledge-Organized APO Apple
Picking Outing. Cheezy enough, eh?
The date will be Sunday, October 12, starting sometime early
afternoon; that is the only weekend day I've available before apple
season will be over. The event will consist of two parts: a drive
(45-60 minutes each way) to an apple orchard where we can either
quickly pick several bushels of apples, or not-so-quickly so we can
lolligag around in the sun, depending on mood and weather. Then we
return to MIT and take over a dorm kitchen and make apple products:
pies and applesauce are easiest, but anything goes.
I'd like to know *by email* who would be interested in going,
so I can get a good idea of the number of drivers I need and the
amount of cookware I need to dig up. I've so far only heard from
about four others, but I was vague on the date in the previous email.
Actives, alums, and any and all friends are welcome as long as
we have space in cars (I don't have a license right now so I can't
rent a van). It's a great chance to get off campus--I've been here
too long and am always grateful for any opportunity to get away. It's
also a great way to get great, inexpensive snackfood: last year I ate
like three apples a day for a month or so, and made several pies.
Yrs in LFS and keeping the doctor away,
Brad L.
ps An onion a day keeps *everyone* away...
