...just thought you might want to know the details of the project
tomorrow.
We're working for the American Medical Resource Foundation, an
organization which accepts donations of obsolete medical equipment
from hospitals. Volunteer biotech engineers come in and test the
equipment to see if it is still usable, and usable equipment is
donated to needy institutions.
We'll meet in the APO office at 9:30 am. Better to be early, since
the project is in Brockton, about a 40 minute drive, and we'll need to
get on our way as soon as possible. We'll be back sometime that
afternoon. I'd like to send one car back early, in case some people
can't stay all afternoon.
Wear/bring warm clothes. The project will take place in a warehouse
which is heated only to the point of being above freezing. Bring warm
hats, socks, etc., and work gloves, if you have them.
We'll be building a large test area for medical equipment, a bench
about 8'x8'x40' with electrical outlets. The AMRF will use the bench
for testing the equipment it receives. There's apparently lots of
other stuff we can do, also.
Lunch will be provided to us: probably pizza and coke.
And OH MY GOSH we need drivers. It would be a shame to have to cancel
the project since they're depending on us and it's and open project.
It would be a shame to have to cancel the project anyway. But no one
has yet committed to driving. If you can drive or you know of someone
who can drive, please e-mail me soon!
