Dave put this so eloquently, I thought everyone should check out his
(slightly updated) version.

OK. Here is, once and for all, the listing of active APO mailing lists.
apo-news: For announcements relating directly to APO. Traffic on this list
should be kept to a minimum, since all brothers and pledges should be on
this list and read everything that goes by.
apo-pftgoto: Points For The Good Of The Order. Just like the real thing in
meetings. Announce the concert you're in. Forward mail decrying various
evil empires here. Note that this list is not for those fearful of high
mail traffic -- but by the same token, don't forward every last little
thing you find funny.
apo-minutes: The minutes of meetings are sent here.
apo-exec: ExecComm, plus groupies. Interested in seeing the inner
machinations of the chapter? E-mail the AVP to add yourself. A good way
to contact the officers quickly.
apo: is for outside contact. it's the address we give
to people outside the chapter. DO NOT mail to it. It will
just go to the president and the MVP.
apo-acl: has the Pres, MVP, AVP, SVP, webmasters, and athena-clueful people.
(9/7/97 NOTE: this is currently under review.)
apo-president: Guess.
apo-brothers, apo-pledges, apo-bigbrothers: For use mainly by the MVP. In
general, mail should not be sent here unless you really know better.
