Reception for Graduating Alpha Chi actives, June 4th 1997, 7-9pm, 26-110

There are several Alpha Chi actives who are graduating this spring, so
AXAA will be hosting a reception for the graduating brothers, their
families, and their friends. The reception will be held June 4th, 1997
from 7 to 9pm in the Karl Taylor Compton Room (26-100) on the campus of
MIT.

If you would like to assist with preparations for this reception,
contact John Kohl <john_kohl@alum.mit.edu> or 617-643-0215.

(2) (a)

The Alpha Chi Alumni Association annual meeting will be at 2:30pm on
June 8th, 1997, in the Mezzanine Lounge in the MIT Student Center, 84
Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, Massachusetts. (This is the Sunday of
MIT's reunion weekend.)

Business to be conducted at the meeting includes nomination and election
of officers, approval of a budget for the next year, and any other
business which may come before the meeting. Light refreshments will be
provided.

	John Kohl, AXAA president

(2) (b) Plea for candidates:

At the annual meeting in June, we will be electing AXAA officers for the
next year. The elected officers are: President, Service Vice-President,
and Secretary-Treasurer. (The Newsletter Editor is appointed by the
President and confirmed by the executive committee).

We need candidates for all offices, as the current officers are not
seeking re-election. The duties of the offices are fully detailed in
the association bylaws, but in short:

President: represents the Association; runs meetings; works on alumni
contact
SVP: Coordinates a service program in and around Metro Boston
Sec'y Treasurer: keeps meeting records, deals with money, formulates
budget, helps count secret ballots
