Get your butt out of the chair and the lab and into the pool!!
Beginning this week and for the month of July, I will be going to the
Alumni Pool to swim Tues-Fri at 6 pm.

The Top N Reasons You Should Come, Too
			(in no particular order)
	1. Swimming is (gasp!) good exercise.
	2. Getting into the pool after working all day is really nice.
Especially on really hot days.
	3. Getting out of the pool and getting into the shower after
swimming means you'll be refreshed and clean for the next place you go.
(hopefully home for dinner, but.....)
	4. If you have RSI, it might help. According to my physical
therapist, there is very little tone in my back muscles. Swimming is a
great way to strengthen these muscles, and combined with other appropriate
excercises, will help my RSI a lot. Couldn't hurt. (I mean, it shouldn't
make it worse....)
	5. When you use your MIT Athletic Card (on sale Monday at DuPont
for only $20 for students) at the Alumni Pool, you get a nice clean white
towel to use after you get out of the pool and/or the shower. (Personally
I save mine for after the shower so that I can really get all the pool
chemicals off.) When you leave, you give them a now damp and dirty towel,
which they have to wash, and you don't have to drag a towel around with you
all day.
	6. The locker rooms have these cool machines that spin suits
almost dry in a just a few seconds. Must be seen to be fully appreciated.
	7. You don't have to worry about me showing you up. The pool
has six lanes for swimming -- 2 slow, 2 medium, and 2 fast. I always
swim in a slow lane, and sometimes I wish there were a sloth-in-water lane.
	8. I don't care if you show me up. Swim as fast as you want.
But please try not to splash me too much. I have having water in my face.
	9. If you care, this would be a very good time to see me in my
swimming suit.
	10. Richard won't be there. ;)

So, come swim with me. It should be cool (I hope). I can't
swim on Mondays because I have meetings and rehearsals, but it doesn't
mean you can't go without me.
