So who are these troops anyway and what are they doing? (and why do

The unit we're helping out is the 1-181st Infantry Regiment, a national
guard unit based out of Worchester, MA.
They are deployed to Kabul and as an Infantry Regiment are out there
providing security to the locals and putting themselves in harms way.
In their spare time they are also working on Operation Afghan Outreach, a
volunteer (not DoD sponsored) project to provide supplies to local schools.

This means that we are now also collecting school supplies. (backpacks,
crayons, notebooks, pens, etc)
So how can you help do
- service to the campus (by collecting up people's old school supplies)
- service to the nation (by supporting those who are serving it and stuck
out there)
- service to the world (by helping them help the Afghanis)
by signing up for some of the events in carepackages project
