I don't see what the problem is.  Lots of programs create files in your
home directory, and the default user's files aren't world readable.  If
you are the kind of person who knows enough to make the top level
of your home directory world-readable, and you choose to do so,
then you should be aware of what the programs you use do and record
there.  Some WAIS programs retrieve the actual text of the files that you
request, too, and save records of the queries that you make.

I guess the reason that I don't worry about the global history thing is
that a number of the queries I make are broadcast over zephyr by the
plexus server anyway (class www-log) and logged to a file on
www.mit.edu.  Compared to that, a file in my home directory that I can
make fascist if I choose to (I don't choose to) is nothing.
