There are now version 2 specifications for the GSS-API, as well as
specs. for Kerberos and public key (SPKM) implementations. Public and
commercial versions of these implementations are available. The
relevant Internet Drafts are:

draft-ietf-cat-kerb5gss-02.txt
draft-ietf-cat-spkmgss-04.txt
The above I-Ds are in the process of moving to "proposed standard"
status. Other related work includes a mechanism negotiation protocol,
and a corollary API for store-and-forward applications (IDUP-GSS-API):
