Just a note if no one here is aware of this:

Subject: Problems with "bug" fix for IE

OK. Getting a bit frustrated here. I
downloaded and installed the patch for MSIE 3.01
on NT 4.0. Installed from an admin account.
Unfortunately, I now receive error messages from
any non-admin account on login.

Advanced INF Install

INF Install Failure. Reason: Access is denied.

Now, I'm assuming that this is because I
used the MS c2config utility from the ResKit.
I don't want to have to track this down through
auditing and then reset file permissions. I want
Microsoft to write software that doesn't break
other software (don't we all...), or I am just
going to uninstall IE from all of our computers.
And maybe, just possibly, reinstall it when IE
4.0 is released.

Anyone know if MS is aware of this, or
if there is a fix? Thanks.

Anyway, others have since reported to me that
they have seen the same problem. And it does
not appear on a fresh install of NT WS. I also apologize (a bit) for the editorials, but I was rather peeved at the time.
