The tracability of the originating IP address would of course depend on =
the logging abilities of the proxy server. There are other identifiers =
that might be found out by the server, such as cookies stored on your =
machine etc..

No matter what the circumstances are, chances are with enough =
effort..any session can be traced back to its originating IP.

Subject: proxies and ip addresses

I don't know if this has ever been posted about here or not, but I =
wanted to
ask anyways. In certain servers it would scan for your IP address and =
then
log it in a file (for security reasons I guess). But, when using a proxy =
not
of your own ISP's then it would find a different IP address for you.

For example, if my ip address is 193.188.84.123 (which is in .bh) and =
i'm
using a proxy in .uk then it would catch a totally different ip address. =
Is
that retraceable ? In other words, if any illegal operation was done =
using
this way is it possible for me, the server, to trace down the actual
original ip address?=20

Thank you.
