Not without coding your own daemon...  But... there's an easier way though...
If you know the exact location of the file you want, just telnet to the 
httpd port and manually request it.

{kluge:2} telnet www.asel.udel.edu 80

GET /index.html

[... here's where index.html would be displayed ...]

Connection closed by foreign host.


That's all you have to do..
