{lo=92laH} is actually a root verb, not a verb and a suffix. It is =
distinct from {lo=92}. It may LOOK like a verb and a suffix, but it=92s =
not. Though it is indistinguishable from the other root with a suffix, =
except by grammatical context:
{lo=92} means =93use=94 and can have a direct object. It can=92t be used =
as an adjective.
{lo=92laH} means =93be useful=94 and can be used as an adjective. It =
can=92t take a direct object.
This distinction quite likely is the result of a goof on Maltz=92s part, =
but it=92s one of those delightful little exceptions in the language=85 =
unless I=92ve horribly misremembered something.
